Backrooms Maker / NullZoner · Early preview

This policy describes how Backrooms Maker (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our website and NullZoner editor. We designed the early preview to keep your creative work on your device.

Summary

• We do not require accounts or collect personal profiles.
• Your maps are stored locally in your browser, not on our servers.
• We do not sell your data.
• We may use analytics to understand usage and improve the early preview.
• We do not use advertising trackers or sell analytics data.

Information stored on your device

NullZoner saves maps, editor preferences, and related data using browser storage (IndexedDB and localStorage). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export a .backrooms file or share it yourself.

You control this data. You can delete it by:

• Clearing site data for backroomsmaker.com in your browser settings
• Using your browser’s private/incognito mode (data is discarded when the session ends)
• Removing individual maps inside the editor’s map library

Information we do not collect

In the current early preview, we do not operate:

• User accounts or login systems
• Cloud map storage or sync
• Payment processing
• Email lists or newsletters (not yet active)

Cookies and analytics

We may use analytics services, including Google Analytics, to understand how people find and use Backrooms Maker and NullZoner. Analytics can help us measure page views, referrers, approximate location, browser and device type, feature usage, performance, and similar aggregate usage patterns.

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and may process information such as your IP address, user agent, page URL, referrer, and interaction events. Google processes this information according to its own policies. You can learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Analytics privacy documentation.

You can limit analytics collection with browser privacy controls, ad/tracker blockers, or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Where required by law, we will request consent before setting analytics cookies or using analytics technologies that require consent.

Server and network data

Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) may process standard technical logs when you load pages — for example IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp — for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify individual creators or read your map contents, because map data is not sent to our servers.

Third-party content

Sample maps, fonts, and other static assets are served from our domain or bundled with the app. We do not embed third-party social widgets or ad networks in the editor.

Children

Backrooms Maker is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

The service is operated from the United States. If you access it from other regions, your browser-stored data remains on your device under your control.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves — for example if we add accounts, cloud features, or analytics. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
